What are the venue hire rates and what's included in the base price?

Venue hire rates start from £4,825 VAT exempt for weekday hire or £7,175 VAT exempt for weekend hire, covering 2pm until midnight with supplier access from 12pm. The base price includes room hire only - all catering, AV equipment, and additional services are charged separately with mandatory minimum spends applying.

What are the capacity limits for seated dining events?

Maximum seated capacity for ceremony and dinner is 100 guests in the Beatrice Webb Room. The Music Room alone cannot accommodate dinner and drinks for 40-50 people, requiring an additional room booking. Individual rooms have varying capacities, with the Council Room seating up to 70 for dinner.

What are the mandatory catering minimums and who provides the food?

A minimum evening spend of £1,000 + VAT applies for all dining events. All catering is provided exclusively by Searcys, the in-house catering partner. They offer bespoke menu design including halal and South Asian inspired options, though the venue notes they are not specialized in South Asian catering.

What are the typical catering costs for a three-course dinner?

A three-course dinner costs £66.50 + VAT per person, with wine packages starting at £17.00 + VAT per person for half a bottle of house wine and unlimited mineral water. Welcome drinks start at £8.00 + VAT per person for prosecco, with canapes available from £17.50 + VAT per person for three pre-dinner selections.

Can I use external suppliers for AV, floristry, or entertainment?

The venue maintains detailed lists of Approved Suppliers for Audio Visual, Production, and Floristry, plus Recommended suppliers. Use of any third-party suppliers outside these approved lists must be agreed in writing by {10-11} Carlton House Terrace before booking confirmation.

What are the booking and payment requirements?

To proceed with booking, you must provide full signatory details, organization information, contact details, and address for both signatory and finance contacts. A 50% deposit invoice is sent upon receipt of the signed hire agreement, and you must wait to receive this invoice before making payment to quote the correct invoice number.

Are there additional fees for late events or special services?

Late catering fees of £300 + VAT per hour apply after 11pm. Additional hours after 10pm cost £500 VAT exempt per hour. Manned cloakroom service is available at additional cost (price on request), while unmanned cloakroom with coat rails is complimentary.

What seasonal offers or discounts are available?

The venue offers a winter discount of £1,000 off venue hire for weddings taking place in October or November 2025. For last-minute bookings, discounts of up to 20% on venue hire may be available, and multi-day bookings can receive additional percentage discounts.

What Christmas party packages are available and what do they include?

The Festive Dinner & DJ package costs £145 + VAT per person with a minimum of 55 guests. This includes sparkling wine on arrival, three-course dinner, half bottle of house wine per person, unlimited mineral water, tea/coffee with mince pies, post-dinner nibbles, manned cloakroom, poseur tables, Christmas crackers, and DJ from Blank Canvas Entertainment.

How far in advance should I book, especially for December events?

December is extremely busy with all bookings operating on a first-to-confirm basis. The venue recommends booking as early as possible, particularly for Christmas parties.
